Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-9 (NIV)

*********** The jubilee fund
Cornerstone has always operated with the concept of ‘forever families’ being one of the underpinning principles of our ‘raison d’etre’. It is with this in mind that the Trustees have sanctioned the establishment of a fund with the specific purpose of contributing to the ongoing support to people in our care when they face challenges after they have become adults.
I am sure that most of us will recognize the greater pressures on finances which arise when we are setting out in our early adult life. Independence comes at a cost which takes us all by surprise. It is into this situation that we are aiming to provide some form of assistance.
The Jubilee Fund uses supporters’ donations to provide grants to contribute towards costs which often require extended families to dip into their savings. Such things as driving lessons, equipment for a new job, going on voluntary service, and even helping to provide for setting up home for the first time or getting married etc..
There is a formal, yet straightforward application process.
Any of our former fostered or adopted your people over the age of 18 may apply. Initially, all that is required, is for you to e-mail the Cornerstone Finance Office at [email protected] with ‘Jubilee Fund Application’ as the subject and the forms and information will be sent out to you. Alternatively, you can apply in writing to Jubilee Fund, Cornerstone UK Adoption and Fostering Service, Room 2, Oxford House, Sixth Avenue, Auckley, Doncaster DN9 3GG.
Our aim is to achieve a prompt turnaround so that funds will be made available when and where needed. However, during COVID restrictions things may take longer than we would prefer.
If you are a supporter who would like to contribute to this Jubilee Fund, please send an email to [email protected] and ask for the details. Thank you for considering blessing the next generation.
