Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me,....
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25 : 34 -40
exciting news!!!
WE ARE EXCITED TO INTRODUCE OUR NEW CEO, JOSH MACDONALD. AFTER A PRAYERFUL AND RIGOROUS INTERVIEW PROCESS, THE BOARD FELT THAT JOSH WAS THE RIGHT PERSON TO LEAD CORNERSTONE THROUGH THE NEXT SEASON, BUILDING UPON THE WONDERFUL WORK THAT PAM AND THE TEAM HAVE DONE.
I am inspired by the way in which Cornerstone has continually called on the church to participate in caring for the most vulnerable children in our society, and then stood shoulder to shoulder with those who have stepped forward to do so. To represent them in any capacity is a deep privilege. |
welcome to Foundations Matter
Foundations Matter is a Christian Independent Fostering Agency. Based in Scotland, we specialise in offering homes to children in the care of Local Authorities. We currently have social workers in Fife, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and Lewis. We are recruiting foster carers who are in or near those areas. We are being developed by Cornerstone which is an Independent Fostering and Post Adoption Support Agency based in the North of England.
Cornerstone has for the last 20 years they have specialised in offering ‘permanent‘ homes to children in the care of Local Authorities. They are the only Christian Fostering Agency in the UK. Spurred on by our shared faith, we are an agency that is committed to creating forever families for children, especially those that are hard to place. Cornerstone has facilitated the transition to adoption for around 80 per cent of the children it has placed, even though this cuts off the funding which it receives for the foster placement. There have been no adoption breakdowns during the history of the organisation. This is a testament to the passion, commitment and excellence our staff and carers have. Read more about Cornerstone on their website here. |

respond to the callAt Cornerstone we understand how important support is for our families and individuals who foster. We know that the whole church is called to care for vulnerable children and to support each other in our callings.
Here are some resources we love that are designed to help us understand how the church can care for and support families with care experienced children. (click links to download the reports and share with your family, small group and/or church leaders.) |
